This next update Mon or Tues I will be posting short timelapses of drives along the highways and roads across the UP so you can see the color change weekly in some spots, more than just some pictures and a few videos. I think it will be fun for you to see the weekly changes. I will try to upload as many drives as I can each week.
As a bonus for being a paid subscriber you will get first dibs on seeing the videos I post. After two weeks I will then make them public for all to see.
These videos will be on Youtube.com/funintheup with a special link for paid subscribers that I will post in the paid subscriber post. Once a video has been private for 2 weeks then it will go Public viewing for the world to see on Youtube.
As a free bonus for Free Subs, the week 4 post I will make viewable to all subscribers for 2 days, then I will change the settings back to paid subscriber content.
COLOR UPDATE:
I have noticed a lot of change this week. I am seeing a few brighter reds starting to pop out and lots of marshy areas and wetlands with maples getting some deep crimson reds and scarlet reds. This is a good sign as that means we are less than 3 weeks until we start seeing some really nice color across the UP, far from peak but we could see places reaching 40% even 50% color by Sept 9th. Remember when color starts to hit 65-70% it could be a matter of a few days that peak color arrives and your favorite area might be starting to become bare from the winds, rain, and dry leaves falling off, so a change in plans might be in order to another area with more color.
Disclaimer: This fall color update is only meant as a rough guide, it represents in no way 100% accuracy, your views of color percentages could vary from what myself views it as. I will give you the most accurate and honest analysis as I can to help you plan your adventures to the UP for fall color. I look at color change far deeper than the average person, hundreds of hours each fall are spent analyzing past weather, future weather, thousands of images from cameras, drones, highway cameras, talking with tourism agencies, business owners, friends across the UP, and past fall color reports.
Thank you for supporting and following FunintheUP content. Your support allows for this content to keep being made so thousands can enjoy it. Without your support I wouldn’t be able to provide these updates. No place I would rather be than the beautiful Upper Peninsula.
