UP Snow Totals Feb 27th
Snow and winds arrived, felt like winter. I have a vehicle again!
Today the snow returned with the wind, it really felt like what most of winter should have felt like this season. This will be short lived as 50° temps will return on Friday.
There were still some lake effect snow bands pounding the Munising area into the Pictured Rocks area so there should be a bit more snow that way like I reported yesterday. Overall snowfall totals today were about what I forecasted for.

Temps really dropped pretty fast last night, -4 this morning at my Tamarack location station. I saw that the NWS posted a big variance in temperature at the Iron Mountain station. The temperature in Iron Mountain felt 75 degrees colder at 4 am this morning than it did at 4 pm yesterday (64 to -11F). (NWS Marquette Facebook post).
If you watched my Facebook LIVE yesterday I said in it that in 10 minutes I was there at my Tamarack station it had dropped 4 degrees, and the high for the day was 48 and was currently 34, then dropped to -4 overnight a 52 degree swing.
I saw a few snowmobile tracks on Trail 17 today while I was out, I can’t imagine that ride being that fun, crusty and bumpy trail doesn’t excite me, perhaps they saw this as a last opportunity to ride.
Yesterday Swedetown xc ski trails were closed and today they were open again as there was a light dusting of snow that covered the hard crusty tracks. Maybe I’ll get out and do some xc skiing before the snow melts.
Honestly I am looking forward to an early spring and doing some waterfall adventures, maybe a little camping before bug season too.
I want to thank everyone who donated to the gofundme that helped me pickup a vehicle. I am happy to be back out on the road again and looking forward to doing videos again and snow reports for everyone before winter is over. You can watch the LIVE video showing everyone the vehicle.
