Just a little dusting of snow across the Upper Peninsula. This week looks to be dry with a very slight chance of snow or rain as it looks as the next system to arrive across the Great Lakes region will probably stay south of the UP and light up into Ottawa Canada.
Three more stations joined the 200 Inch Club over now a total of 10 are now in the club. It is still looking unlikely that any station will join the 300 Inch Club this season as the closest station has 248.5 inches. On the ground snowfall totals are sitting about where we were last season at this time so we are likely to see snow on the ground into late April this year unless we get some really warm spring days and rain to melt it quickly, but having to much rain and really warm days can melt the snow to quickly and cause rivers to rise causing flooding.
Enjoy some nice weather coming up and a chance to see the Northern Lights from the UP this week, I’ll be keeping an eye out and maybe be doing a Northern Lights Photography Workshop. This is one of the most active periods of the year for Auroras.
