UP Snow Totals Nov 13th&14th

Lake effect snow in full swing this week

Well the lake effect snow machine is in full swing. We continued to see snowfall mostly across the western, northern, and central Upper Peninsula. A few traces of snowfall across the eastern UP. Roads continue to be slick as we haven’t had any really cold temperatures yet. There is enough snow now to get the cross country skis out and hit the trails, some are being rolled right now over in the Ironwood area but there are no areas yet that laid any tracks for classic.

Snowmobile trails open on December 1st every year and so far so good on the amount of snowfall we have been seeing across areas near Ironwood to Bergland and across areas near Twin Lakes to Painesdale, and Quincy hill to Calumet. Snowfall really drops off along the shores of Lake Superior from Little Girls Point to the Porkies all the way to Ontonagon and up to Copper harbor. The higher elevations really saw some nice snow bands through the day starting late morning into early afternoon and the Keweenaw continued to see lake effect into the darkness of the night. The outlier east of Marquette for snowfall was in the immediate Munising area with strong north winds dropping a quick 10 inches. Below you will find the snow totals as usual.
