Well the western and northern UP saw 10 days in a row of snowfall, the majority of the seasonal snowfall that has been seen so far has been from the last 10 days. With the combined snowfall from Oct 17th and 18th we are going to be heading into December ahead of average for the season except the eastern and southern UP where they are about normal for this time of the year. The western UP and central UP are really getting the snow, and the Keweenaw is slightly about normal, you’ll see the snow totals below as usual.
Look forward to clear roads and little warmer weather heading into Thanksgiving and through the weekend, good news for those heading into the UP and out of the UP for the Thanksgiving holiday week. We may see temps get into the low to mid 40s across much of the Upper Peninsula.
Weather models right now show the next good chance of precipitation is December 1st in the form of snow. At most we will see some scattered flurries in the western UP and a good chance of snow and rain mix across the southern and eastern UP on December 1st. On December 2nd winter looks to be coming back as a low pressure system looks to move into the western, northern, and central UP bringing a few inches of snowfall and rain across the eastern UP. Stay tuned for further updates on the next system moving in towards the end of the month, for now enjoy the nicer weather coming this week. Below I have some forecast images for the next few days.
The next week or so doesn’t look good for snowfall, but will update here when it happens so you’ll want to check back often or keep and eye on your emails for updates.
